Team Easton Archers have banner weekend in Texas
SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH (April 8, 2013) /PRNewswire/ - Easton Technical Products, Members of Team Easton were crowned champions in both target and 3D tournaments this weekend. The howling winds of Texas were no match for the Easton X10 and Protour’s.
World #1 Reo Wilde came charging back from a 9-point deficit to take the win over Easton Teammates, Braden Gellenthien and Roger Willet. In the woman’s division, Team Easton swept the podium with Erika Jones taking the victory over Team Easton’s Tristan Skarvan and Jamie Van Natta. 2012 Olympic medalist, Brady Ellison won a tight match over teammate and fellow medalist, Jake Kaminski. Collin Klimitchek was 3rd to complete the podium sweep at the Texas Shootout, in College Station.
The premiere 3D tour, the ASA’s forth stop was in Paris Texas. Team Easton’s Darrin Christenberry won the men’s pro class and the iconic championship buckle. In the Woman’s pro division Team Easton’s Ginger Morehead and Cara Fernandez rounded out the podium in 2nd and 3rd, respectively.
ASA Champion Darrin Christenberry was congratulated by hundreds of fans immediately following his win. “I been 2nd seven times here in Texas and I finally got the buckle I’ve been chasing.” Said Darrin. “I’ve been struggling lately but it feels amazing to be back on top with my Easton arrows. The younger guys out here have pushed the level higher and we have been forced to respond, the sport of 3D archery is only getting better.”
Texas Shootout Recurve Champion Brady Ellison said, “The winds are always tough here in Texas, but the Easton X10 was designed to fly true in just these conditions. It was a tight match with Jake (Kaminski) which came down to the final arrow, but it feels good to get the win.”
