New Tracer Nocks Grab Eyes at ATA

Easton Aquires Tracer Nock Patent & Introduces the New 2008 Tracer

Salt Lake City, Utah, November 2007¾ Easton recently acquired the patent and trademark for the TRACER® Nock. Easton’s design engineers took the best feature of the old Tracer and made it even better. Now TRACER® utilizes Easton technology to create a more advanced lighted nock system. Lightweight TRACER® employs nano-fused Hybtonite® epoxy. The secret of Hybtonite® epoxy lies in the patented utilization of carbon nanotubes. Carbon nanotubes have the highest specific strength of all known materials. The list of amazing characteristics of carbon nanotubes is endless, but they can be utilized to full potential only with a true chemical bond. Hybtonite® is the only composite resin where the carbon nanotubes are joined with the epoxy molecules to utilize their benefit in arrow construction. This unique hybrid material outperforms regular carbon resins to create a new standard in carbon arrow construction.

Introduced in 2004, TRACER Arrows have emerged as the preferred choice for bowhunters looking for deep-penetrating big game performance. Now a more powerful TRACER is the first ever to utilize carbon nanotubes for increased strength and built-in vibration control.

TRACER still uses Easton’s patented small diameter Slim Technology (ST®). ST TRACER arrows focuses the bow’s energy into an ultra-small diameter for greater penetration, thick-wall construction gives added kinetic punch, and Hidden Insert Technology (HIT®) insert system automatically aligns broadheads. ST TRACER®comes in standard black or Realtree’s APGä camo.

Perfectly balanced spine, weight and small outside diameter (OD) of the TRACER provide the optimum blend of penetration, kinetic energy, speed, and accuracy. “Its diameter is so small that by design the wall must be thicker to stiffen the spine for more kinetic power. It also penetrates deeper since the shaft slides friction free behind a broadhead.” said Gary Cornum, Marketing Manager for Easton. “Bowhunters across the nation are proving for themselves, with one success story after another, that the smaller-diameter and thicker-wall equate to performance and penetration. It’s like magnum ammunition for your bow.” The small diameter also means that ST TRACER arrows fly virtually unaffected by crosswinds, a benefit not found in regular carbon arrows.
