TEAM E KICKIN’ IT IN BANGKOK

Hot?  Check.  Humid?  Doublecheck.  Windy?  Why yes, indeed.  But the challenging conditions here in Bangkok are again proving no match for the power and precision of Easton archers this week at the 1st Asian Grand Prix here in Bangkok, Thailand.

Sweeping the top 10 in each division, Easton shooters are now in the top elimination round brackets of this important event, where Asian countries are selecting their teams for the Asian Games later this year- the first to feature compound archery.

Hideki KIKUCHI (L) and London Olympic Silver Medalist Takaharu FURUKAWA (R) of Japan- the only man to ever shoot a perfect score in the Olympic set system (to win the Asian GP finals last season) traded 10 after 10 to take the top slots on the leader board.  Joined by Yuki HAYASHI and Kaori KAWANAKA, Japan’s shooters came bursting out of the starting gate on the long 2014 road to victory.  India and Malaysia are also turning in stellar performances, all powered by the Easton X10 arrow shaft- and a whole lot of tough training as they prepare to battle powerhouse Korea in the season ahead.

This World Archery ranking event in Thailand’s bustling capital continues all week, and we will bring you more behind the scenes shots- like Hideki’s new Gaspro fletching job, above, as the competition progresses.
