Years in Archery & on USAT

I have been on USAT every year since 1998 excluding 3 years due to having children.

How you got your start in archery

My father bought me a bow for my 12th birthday.  I joined a JOAD program that fall and was a Gold Olympian 2 years later.

Easton, Mathews Inc, Shibuya, Carter, and Doinker

Favorite place to shoot/compete

My favorite indoor tournaments are the World Archery Festival in Las Vegas and the Face 2 Face tournament in Amsterdam.  My favorite outdoor tournament is the Redding Trail Shoot.

Birth place and where are you based now?

I was born in Portland, Maine and grew up in Raymond Maine.  I now live in York Pennsylvania.

What does Easton mean to you?

Easton is the one company and product that I have shot since day one of archery.  I have shot every practice and tournament shot with an Easton arrow, and I have killed every animal I have hunted with an Easton arrow.  Easton, in my eyes, is the best!

When I’m not shooting, you can find me

Spending time with my husband and 2 boys.  That's my number 1 past time.  You can also find me in the outdoor shunting and fishing with my family.  I also like to do crafts and learn about photography.

Favorite food

I don't think I have an absolute favorite meal, but I do love pasta!  My favorite healthy choice is fruit and vegetable smoothies because I do believe they help me shoot better.

When I’m on the shooting line,

I try not to have too much go through my head.  I just tell myself to shoot a shot just like I would at home at the range and trust the shot and myself to do what I know how to do.

Tip for the average archer

take the time to learn and work on a part of your shooting.  Becoming a good archer does not happen over night.  Those who work on every part of their shooting will improve over those who just fling arrows.

Favorite style of music and what’s on your playlist right now

Oh my, I like a lot of music.  I go through periods of time when I like country -my sirius channel is 15 -it just depends on what I feel like singing to when nobody is around.

Favorite movie

I like Drama/Romance but I don't really have a favorite.

Favorite TV show

I like Walking Dead and Grey's Anatomy.

Favorite sports team

Family and pets

I have 2 little boys, Zachery and Jacob.  We have 2 labs, Syndey and Drake, and 2 kittens, Jessie and Neeko.

I drive a Chevy Malibu.  My dream car would be one that is loaded with all the bells and whistles, that is clean all the time (on its own) and magically is a convertable on days that I want it to be.

Philosophy of life/motto

Do what you love and love what you do!

What arrows do you shoot?

Easton 2312s and Easton X-10 600s

Breakthrough moment in archery

When I shot my first 300.  I worked so hard for a 300, and once I shot one, I was rolling with higher scores.
